When I am painting I take pleasure in taking an idea or reference subject and giving it my own thumb print, or A Brush With Color.
I don't want my paintings to look like a snapshot I took from my camera. I like to exaggerate the color, and to fill the canvas with rich, vibrant colors. I'd like viewers to walk away having “felt” something not just having “looked” at something they might have already seen. "
I have been described by my peers as a "colorist" and I gladly accept. Whether I work in oil or watercolor my thumbprint is colored. I have been in Local Colors Art Gallery since 2012 where I chair the PR Marketing committee. I am a member of the Utah Watercolor Society. Currently I have a watercolor piece traveling for a year with the Utah Watercolor Society. I have been accepted into Bountiful Davis statewide show, Utah Water Color Society small works show and Spring show.
